After a collaboration spanning more than ten years, we're launching a fully renewed version of the Dumpert app together with Dumpert. The application has been completely rebuilt from the ground up and now serves as a future-proof, tailor-made streaming platform where video and community come together.

Dumpert is a unique Dutch phenomenon: a hub for funny, remarkable and viral videos with millions of loyal fans, the 'reaguurders'. It is a massive success and we want to keep it that way. Dumpert operates in a media landscape that keeps changing, and the platform has to move with it. We managed to build the platform that fits that need.

ten years of partnership
Over this ten year partnership there have been several major releases that kept introducing iconic features. Think of the secret Dumpert soundboard, a self built video editing application, and the infamous 'pull harder' notifications.
Where the focus used to be on searching for specific videos, this era calls for a platform that makes effortless viewing possible. That is why we designed an environment that matches the viewing habits of both Gen Z and millennials, a platform where continuous content viewing happens naturally.
Since the last major release, the Dumpert app has been in constant development. New features and layers kept being added on top of the existing foundation. "This meant that rolling out changes and updates took up more and more time," says Martijn. Older technology made the application harder to maintain. A renewed codebase was more than welcome.

The new Dumpert app is designed as an interactive streaming platform. Instead of copying standard UX patterns, we wove viewing and interacting together. The app moves with the user's dynamics. Take the 'Pleelists': personalized playlists that respond to current viewing habits. Subtle interactions and hidden details reward the loyal visitor. The experience always comes first.
