The problem

December is a month where many brands compete for attention, making attention fleeting and sustained connection harder to achieve.

Rituals wanted to translate its advent calendar and Christmas activation into a digital context. The goal: a digital extension of a familiar ritual, with room for daily interaction, brand experience and lead generation.

The concept

City of Rituals is a digital environment where a different part of the city opens each day throughout Advent. Designed as a calm and atmospheric world aligned with the Rituals brand, each location introduces a new moment: a product to discover, a story to explore or a small interactive task.

Discovery is central to the experience, allowing users to feel what Rituals stands for through interaction rather than explanation. By connecting digital moments to the products and stories of the physical advent calendar, the experience remains closely tied to the ritual itself.

By filling the digital world with daily surprises, the brand stays present throughout December without feeling like direct marketing.

Results

City of Rituals shows how a digital experience can become a meaningful part of a Christmas campaign. Through daily interaction, calm exploration and Rituals storytelling, the brand remained relevant throughout the Advent period.
