Rather than creating a conventional launch moment, Rituals chose to turn the collection into an experience people could actively take part in.

Rituals wanted to celebrate the launch of the Sakura collection in a way that felt true to its origins. The ambition was to translate Hanami, the Japanese tradition of appreciating the beauty of cherry blossoms, into a digital experience that captures its sense of calm and attention. The experience blends brand storytelling, product discovery and a moment of mindfulness, without losing accessibility or marketing relevance.

The experience

Journey to Hanami was designed as an interactive puzzle game set in a tranquil Sakura garden. Players are invited to restore harmony by solving calm, intuitive challenges that guide water through the landscape and help the grand Sakura tree bloom.

As the journey unfolds, key products from the Sakura collection are revealed as part of the environment itself. Product discovery is woven into the experience, allowing interaction and storytelling to flow naturally and without interruption.
